Local NewsOne-On-One Interview With John McCainBy Katie DeLong
MILWAUKEE - Senator John McCain was still in Milwaukee Friday.
He took time to answer the media's questions and to sit down one on one with TODAY’S TMJ4’s Courtny Gerrish.
Senator McCain spent a lot of Friday focusing on judgment and leadership, something McCain says his probable opponent doesn't have.
Talking to the press Friday, Senator McCain threw a lot of jabs at Barack Obama.
"This is about judgment and leadership and clearly Senator Obama was wrong,” McCain said.
McCain was talking about Thursday's comments from the director of the CIA that the surge in Iraq, is working, a strategy the Republican nominee has always supported.
"Senator Obama said time and time again that the surge wouldn't work, that it would increase strife in Iraq. He was wrong, he's wrong now and he's wrong for America for the future,” McCain said.
TODAY’S TMJ4’s Courtny Gerrish: "Obama keeps going back to the war, that he said ‘no’ to the war and you said ‘yes’ to the war, to combat your lack of judgment and leadership accusations."
“He can say that. Literally every intelligence agency in the world thought that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction,” McCain said.
Pain at the pump is something that makes all of us, angry. Senator McCain says he's just as frustrated.
His long-term solution?
“I would also be open to offering Florida and California more of the revenues from oil if they would agree to oil and gas drilling off their coasts,” McCain said.
