Family and friends gathered at Murray's Germantown home to congratulate her Sunday afternoon. Murray had just returned from the team tryouts in Beijing. Her family is thrilled for her.
"Twelve years ago when she was looking for a sport to play and we found wheelchair basketball, I was just happy that she had some team to play on and now that it's led to this. It's amazing," Becca's mom, Linda Murray said.
Murray has played basketball in several countries as a member of Milwaukee's Wheeling Wizards Basketball team. Among them, Australia, Brazil and Japan. The next few months will be very busy for the Germantown High School senior. She will be training in Alabama, Colorado and Georgia.
The Paralympic Games start on September 6th. After competing, Murray will attend the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
