Toddler Gets Fingers Stuck In Mall Escalator
By Lacey Krans
GREENDALE - A freak accident at Southridge Mall Saturday forced a toddler to be taken to the hospital.
The 2-year-old girl was apparently riding the escalator to the second floor of the mall with her father when she reached down and got her fingers caught.
It happened on the south escalators near the children's play area.
The girl's father was able to pull her away from the moving parts, but not before she was injured.
Initial reports said the little girl's fingers were amputated, but they were just bloodied.
Southridge Mall officials didn't return our calls for comment.
There is no word on the little girl's condition.
