Local NewsTeacher, Coach Busted In Internet Sex StingBy Associated Press
MILWAUKEE - Elmbrook officials asked students to come forward this week with information about any "inappropriate behavior" by a teacher arrested in an Internet sex sting.
Michael C. Sprinkel, 41, of Sussex, a social studies teacher at Brookfield East High School, was arrested Thursday after chatting online with someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl. The person was actually a Louisiana police officer, and Sprinkel was arrested after he exposed himself with a Web cam, according to court records.
Sprinkel is awaiting extradition on three counts of computer-aided solicitation for sexual purposes, three counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and one count of pornography involving juveniles, according to an arrest warrant filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court.
The Elmbrook School District also is investigating and plans to interview students and search the Sprinkel's school computer, superintendent Matt Gibson said.
"We are looking for people who can come forward with additional information," Gibson said.
Sprinkel taught at Brookfield East for eight years, he said.
Sprinkel's attorney, Franklyn M. Gimbel, said he expects the teacher to voluntarily surrender to Louisiana authorities. He declined to comment further.
Sprinkel was released on $15,000 bail and a $100,000 signature bond after he appeared in Waukesha County court Friday, records showed. He was ordered to have no contact with any girls other than his daughters.
