Kenosha: Woman Loses Home
By Katie DeLong
KENOSHA - The tornado also caused big problems for people in the city of Kenosha.
The twister lifted one Kenosha house off its foundation and moved it two and a half feet!
The woman who lives at the home is normally there on Mondays, but not this week.
Diane Anderson had no idea how badly her house was damaged, until Tuesday's daylight shed terrible light on reality.
TODAY’S TMJ4’s Melanie Stout: “What was your first thought when you saw it?”
“I lost it. I lost it. Just look at it,” Anderson said, crying.
Anderson’s windows were boarded up. She can no longer live at the home. The tornado also ripped her garage and crashed its roof in her home.
The fierce power of the storm is seen all around her neighborhood.
“I came here this morning and I went ‘Oh my God, I feel so bad for all of us,’” Anderson said.
Stout: “When you look at the damage, the good thing is everybody's OK.”
“Yeah. It moved it three feet. It moved the whole house,” Anderson said.
Diane and her husband will move on and start over. She’s just grateful when the tornado lifted their home, they were not in it.
“Somebody must of told me to go have dinner with my husband,” Anderson said.
