MILWAUKEE - Wednesday night, TODAY'S TMJ4 hit the streets of Milwaukee County in hopes of finding some of the Wisconsin residents awaiting nearly $894,000 in tax refunds. Click on the links under related content to find out how to retrieve your tax refund. The news crew knocked on a lot of doors and read the names on a lot of mailboxes. The search, using on-line White Pages and a Tom Tom navigation device, revealed that many people didn't get their checks because they are hard to find. The team did find Brian Graupner. "I spent it before I got it," Graupner said with a roll of the eyes. "So, I was a little chomping at the bit." Graupner thinks the wrong address was probably on his tax return. TODAY'S TMJ4 also found an elderly Shorewood woman who has lived in the same house for 30 years. It is unclear why the Postal Service was unable to find her. The woman, a native of Yugoslavia, is on a fixed income. She hopes she gets her refund in time to buy some Christmas presents for her grandchildren. She hasn't been able to do that in years.
