By Katie DeLong

MILWAUKEE - UW-Milwaukee Police and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's department investigated a bomb threat against the Engineering and Mathematical Science Building at UW-Milwaukee late Wednesday afternoon. The building is located at 3200 N. Cramer St. Students and teachers were evacuated and the building was closed. Wednesday night classes in the engineering and math building were cancelled. Students tell TODAY'S TMJ4 they were not allowed in the nearby Physics building either. Vice Chancellor Tom Luljak tells TODAY'S TMJ4 the bomb threat was phoned into the Milwaukee Police Department from an off-campus phone. The threat said, "There is a bomb in the building (Engineering and Mathematical Science Building)." Milwaukee Police transferred the case to the UWM Police Department. UW-Milwaukee Police then called in the Sheriff’s Department to help sweep the building with bomb sniffing dogs. Nothing suspicious was found and the Engineering and Mathematical Science Building reopened about 7 p.m. Wednesday.
