Here are some of your responses:
Linda says: “Christmas music should not be played until at least
December 1st. I have already heard Christmas music this morning on radio and I was not happy with that. If it starts this early - by the time Christmas arrives you don't even want to hear the music.”
Kathy says: “I think it is absolutely horrible that they are starting so early. Even the stores have Christmas stuff for sale. What is happening to our society? When did Christmas become a commercial holiday instead of a Christian Holiday? The store chains are getting greedier by the minute. I think the money would be better spent by giving the gift of charity then giving a gift that doesn't fit or that isn't liked just to say you gave something. If I want to give a gift I shouldn't have to wait until Christmas I could do it any time of year. When are they going to start Christmas next year, July?”
John says: “I feel Christmas music should start playing on Christmas Eve day.”
Dave says: “I believe that the music of the season should not begin until after Thanksgiving. Starting it this early takes all of the fun out of the season and, in turn, makes it boring in the end.”
Donna says: “Way too soon. After Thanksgiving is fine. I usually tune into the radio station but to hear only Christmas music this soon makes me just turn the radio off.”
Phyllis says: “I love Christmas music, decorations, shopping, and all the signs of the season but……..November 1st is way too early. Although we should be celebrating Christmas in our hearts all year long, the “commercialness” of Christmas is exploited way too early. I realize that for retail this is a critical time of year, but even they are dressing up in holiday sales before Halloween. Thanksgiving seems to be the kick-off for the holiday season for me. I want to enjoy everything and soak up the “love” of the season. I do not want to become sick-of-it.”
Gary says: “I think they are nuts! I could see starting December 1st but at least let’s get past Thanksgiving first.”
Dawn says: “I love Christmas music! It would be great to hear it played on the radio
beginning the day after Thanksgiving through New Years Day.”
Angie says: “I think it is way too early for this. I listen to the radio station every day at work and today I finally turned them off. I like Christmas music, but geez can't we get over Halloween first?! I think a good time to start playing this is after thanksgiving. Thank you.”
Sharon says: “I don't think they should play Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. How ridiculous that they start Nov. 1st. Halloween was just yesterday. Don't get me wrong. I like Christmas music around Christmas. This is just too early!!!“
Jamie says: “I listen to the radio station at work and I was very upset this morning when I turned on my radio and it was all Christmas music. I don't think they should be allowed to play it until December. If you want it now there are cd's you can buy.”
Michelle says: “Christmas music along with Christmas decorations should be played an start to set out during the first week after thanksgiving.”
Kristin says: “I was flipping through the stations today and realized the radio station was playing Christmas music already. I thought that was crazy. I think radio stations should start playing Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving.”
Sue says: “I think it is way to early, wait until the day after Thanksgiving. Why do they have to push the holiday, it takes all the fun out of it. I will not listen to those stations and will also boycott them after the holidays for their bad business and marketing decisions.”
Rick says: “Personally, I don’t care when they play Christmas music – I only listen to satellite radio. It is because of the excessive commercials on the radio media that I will no longer listen to these stations. So let them continue to do what they now do best – turn the public off!”
Denise says: “I believe Christmas Music should start the day after Thanksgiving. The music is very enjoyable and festive, but by the time Christmas comes, you are saturated with it and then it's over the day after Christmas, like a let-down. It's enough that we are seeing Christmas decorations up before Halloween or earlier.”
Ken says: “The day after "Thanksgiving" would be a good time to start "Christmas Music".”
Alice says: “Not until the day after Thanksgiving. By starting now, people are just going to be sick of Christmas music. We need to appreciate each holiday as they come. We haven't even been able to celebrate Thanksgiving yet.”
Judy says: “NOT UNTIL December 1st!!!!! That is like playing Happy Birthday 2 months before your birthday!!...I've stopped listening today...until closer to the "season"...thank you for asking!”
Eileen says: “Not before Thanksgiving ... Last year it was crazy ... I heard some on NOV 5!!!”
Heather says: “Christmas music this early is offensive to me. Personally, I’d like to hear it December 24th and 25th, and that's it. December 1st is plenty early to have it on the radio. Hype-ing it this early in the year makes the holiday seem so anti-climactic when it comes.”
Joshua says: “I don’t believe Christmas music should be heard on radio stations prior to the Friday after Thanksgiving. You can really get burned out on the holiday long before you should when stations start playing music nearly two months prior to the holiday.”
Mary says: “I really like to listen to Christmas music beginning on Thanksgiving. Every holiday season is so rushed. Let's savor the joy of each season and then proceed to the next.”
Lisa says: “Day after Thanksgiving is good since you have the crazy Christmas shopping. But then go back to regular songs and maybe SOME Christmas songs mixed in. But then I guess the full month of December is ok (would rather have just Christmas week). But I was so tempted to call the radio station yesterday and ask how many listeners do they lose when they start this early. I always listen to them but since they started playing soooooooooo early I will stop and switch to another station. One day I will find a station that plays all the music I like and not back to back Christmas this early and I will never leave.”
Sandi says: “I listen to that radio station in the morning, and I hate the Christmas Music starting so early. Christmas music starting Thanksgiving weekend I can understand, but not Nov 1.
I will have to change radio stations on my alarm until after Christmas.”
Judy says: “If you are any part preparing for a Christmas play, concert, business or entertaining you have been preparing for Christmas since early October. I love that the Christmas music has started on the radio, it makes those practices and preparations more enthusiastic. Many people have begun their shopping and the sales have all started, concerts are being prepared so why not the music.”
Alyson: “I do believe my subject title says it all. I can remember being a child and Christmas wasn't something highly advertised until the day after Thanksgiving...aka...Black Friday. I personally enjoy the Thanksgiving decorations. I believe they help educate everyone on why we celebrate Thanksgiving. Now it's red and green everywhere!! I beg the radio station to wait until AFTER Thanksgiving to play these Christmas songs that many people don't want to hear right now.”
Kathleen says: “Thanksgiving Day!”
Michael and Mary say: “Love Christmas music but NOT till at least sometime AFTER Thanksgiving. Everything is getting to early. I have seen Christmas decorations up in stores in mid-October. Time goes so quickly, can't we enjoy the moment?”
Jodi says: “I would like to hear Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving.”
Tom says: “I love the Advent/Christmas Season, but I'd prefer to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to begin listening to the music. I don't want to wear it out!”
Ann-Marie says: “Ok I love Christmas Music and everything but when I hear it the day after Halloween when and I just got done singing the monster mash that's just sad. When you start playing Christmas music when the grass is still green and were still getting 50 degree weather and it sunny out like its summer people wont be happy that there hearing Christmas music. When there playing it and there saying on the radio its the Christmas station every day for 24hr before Thanksgiving it like there trying for us to forget Thanksgiving. It would just be better if they started the day after Thanksgiving because people are going to get tried of listening to it and there going to turn it off ! Your over doing it if you start the day after Halloween!!!”
Marcia says: “By Christmas, I have heard every arrangement of about 6 'Christmas' tunes about a million times...none of them carols, all of them secular. The repetition is mind-numbing, and starting in November adds to the tedium. It is absolutely maddening to people who work in offices and are submitted to the limited number of songs repeated over and over and over and over and over!”
Brian says: “There is no way I want to here Christmas music now. I think it shouldn’t be played until a week before Christmas. I listen to the station for the music you play all year. If I liked Christmas music so much I’d have it on CD and listen to it all year. You losing customers when you play it too early. All the listeners like the music played regularly, that’s why they’re your listeners. On the other hand, not all of the listeners like Christmas music and they’ll turn the station, thus you lose listeners.”
Kaye says: “Today was just right! I can't even believe how much in the spirit it put me. For me Christmas music is about BOTH holidays and so I enjoy hearing it right after Thanksgiving. I may be in the minority but I'll be listening right up through Christmas :)”
Ann says: “I use to listen to this station on my way to school, but when I heard Christmas music and recovered from the shock, I changed the station. I will not change it back for quite some time, if ever!!”
Jenna says: "I think we should play Christmas music on the first day of December because it’s the month of Christmas and it starts to snow! Well maybe it starts to snow I'm not sure anyways its too early to play it in November! DECEMBER IS WAY BETTER BECAUSE IT GETS U IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT!!!!!!"
Noelle says: “Every year I wait until November 1st to hear the wonderful Christmas music. It puts me in the "Christmas mood" to start giving and have a kinder attitude to all! I think the world could use some more kindness. I've listened all day to the Christmas tunes! Love them!!”
Marilyn says: “I sat down at work this morning and heard "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas"... I thought ....I am? Christmas is the greatest time of the year and I love music and the "magic of Christmas". Just 21 days too soon, would be my opinion. But, you can't please everyone, right? My question is this: Why do all the radio stations STOP playing Christmas music on the 26th? Wouldn't it be nice to continue in that beautiful spirit at least until New Year's Eve?”
Jim says: “I agree with everyone else, Sometime in between Thanksgiving and December 1st. Christmas music can be as bad as country which I can only handle two songs of at a time.”
Bill says: “NO, do not play Christmas music at this time of the year. The day after Thanksgiving is soon enough. What are they trying to prove? Even Jesus, whose birthday we celebrate, gets tired of hearing the same music for an entire month. Now you want to make the general public, and Jesus, suffer through 2 months! Get real. I heard the music they started this morning. Crazy! So I removed their station from all of the program buttons on both of my cars, my motorcycle, the system at home and the system in my office.”
Debra says: “Why wait until November 1, to start playing Christmas music. I think maybe they should start after the fourth of July. That way people can start hanging up their Christmas decorations when it’s still nice out.”
Debby says: “I was SHOCKED to hear a Christmas song on my radio today. I don't think Thanksgiving gets enough respect. I think it's because retailers haven't figured out a way to make a TON of money on it. I love Thanksgiving. But I digress. Christmas music should not be heard until the day after Thanksgiving. One holiday at a time please.”
Katie says: “I am so glad they are playing Christmas music! It puts me in a great mood, and gets me looking forward to the upcoming Holiday Season. While I understand it is a little too excessive to listen to it ALL day and ALL night for 2 months prior, there are other radio stations to listen to if anyone is annoyed by it. And hello, that's what CD's and ipods are for! GOOOO Christmas!”
Don says: “Nov 1st, way too early for Christmas music, decorations are ok, I try not to listen to the holiday songs when I hear them on the radio. I turn to a different station. I'm not a Scrooge, but the songs get very tiring!”
Jon says: “It is like anything else, they can play it when they want and you can listen when you want. You don't want to listen to Christmas Music, change the station. When did things become so difficult?”
Donny says: “While Christmas music is nice and gets you in the holiday spirit, November 1st is a little much. Two days before Thanksgiving so we can listen to it on our drive to the in-laws works for me!”
Chad says: “I think that Radio stations should wait at least until after Thanksgiving to start with Christmas music. Even the Pick’N’Save where I work on the weekends starts decorating and playing festive music before then. I get sick of listening to it before Christmas even get here!”
Jennifer says: “The music should start being played. Otherwise we get too sick of it by the time xmas comes around and then I don’t even want to hear at all when the season is here.”
Heidi says: “This Christmas music is getting out of control. It should not be played until after Thanksgiving. Let’s take time to celebrate each holiday before we move on to the next. It seems as though Thanksgiving is obsolete. You know, Thanksgiving, where we should be thankful for everything we have! Seems rather important, don’t you think?”
Alisha says: “I think that is WAY to early. I can see maybe after Thanksgiving starting to play Christmas music.”
Debra says: “I think that Christmas music should not start playing until December 1st whether on radio, television and in stores. I also think that Christmas decorations should not be displayed until beginning December 1st.”
Mary says: “No - I don't want to here Christmas music while I'm eating my Halloween candy! The weather is nice, the leaves are still falling and I'm just now thinking ahead to Thanksgiving so please give me a break before the all out assault!”
Alyssa says: “I think Christmas music on the radio should start after Thanksgiving, if not a week before. November 1st is just too early!! It's like we're skipping the rest of the Fall season, including Thanksgiving! I'm not a fan of Christmas music being played yet.”
Kari says: “I actually emailed the radio station this morning, telling them I would no longer be listening to their station the rest of the year due to them starting this music today. Never should it be played before Thanksgiving. I would be happy if they only played it the week of Christmas. As much as I love Christmas, you can only take so much "Rockin Around The Christmas Tree".”
Ginny says: “This morning on my 7 minute drive to work, I changed to two different radio stations only to find both of them playing Christmas music. Let's get back to the standard of beginning the day after Thanksgiving! I love the Christmas Holiday and it is my favorite Holiday, but starting this early is just over kill!”
Colleen says: “For me personally, I don't tend to get into the Holiday Spirit until Thanksgiving. I don't mind hearing the occasional Christmas song from Thanksgiving through New Years but November 1st? That's too much too soon.”
Andy says: “I think a better question to ask is when we think Christmas music should end on the radio. I think Christmas Music should begin on the eve of Christmas Eve and play through Epiphany. This is the Christmas season for Christians. Most, if not all radio stations stop playing Christmas music at 11:59pm on Christmas Day when in fact Christmas is just beginning for Christians around the world. This is rather unfortunate. Our secular culture has turned Christmas into Commercialism and making big prophets. Let's put Christ back into Christmas and play Christmas Music through Epiphany.”
Colleen says: “Definitely not until after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving really gets buried by Christmas and that's too bad because it's such a meaningful and important holiday!”
Kalli says: “I love Christmas music but starting to play it so early takes the spirit and joy out of the holiday season, makes it too long and not nearly as special. I can’t listen to it this early! I think it shouldn’t be played until at least after Thanksgiving.”
Georganne says: “I think it's ridiculous to start playing Christmas music this early. I sure as heck won't be tuning into that station any time soon!”
Jean says: “If they have to play Christmas music at all, it should be limited to Christmas week. Stores shouldn't be allowed to put Christmas decorations out until after Thanksgiving either. One of the stores near where I live started putting their ornament displays up the day after Labor Day! UGH!”
Steve says: “November 1st is ridiculous. While I would like to see it the 2nd weekend following Thanksgiving, I would understand right after Thanksgiving. The radio station loses a lot of regular listeners for two months with this plan. Some will form other habits and never return. I doubt highly people will be tuning in for early November Christmas music. This is exhibit A on the commercial exploitation of a wonderful family and spiritual time.”
Sonia says: “I think it’s absolutely RIDICULOUS! Christmas music should not hit the air waves until Thanksgiving. By the time Christmas does come people are tired of the music and really do become scrooges. I turned to another station. At least THEY have some sense.”
Heide says: “Any sooner than the day after Thanksgiving, is way too early. If radio stations start playing music now, then by the time December rolls around, you'd wish Christmas was over already! That's not the Christmas spirit!”
Valerie says: “I think that they should start playing Christmas music the day after thanksgiving. November 1st is too soon.”
Vickie says: “Who cares if the radio station is playing Christmas music already? There are many other choices for music on the radio. If you aren’t ready for Christmas music choose another station. I feel one or two weeks before Christmas is about right.”
Lisa says: “I love the Christmas music but I think it's a little early. Start the day before Thanksgiving.”
Chrystal says: “I think it is crazy to start playing Christmas music so early! We are always in a rush to get on to the next thing. . . the next birthday, the next weekend, the next holiday, we need to slow done and enjoy each day for what it is. I could see starting to play Christmas music on December 1st. That is when all the kids break out the Advent Calendars and would be a great reminder of the "Countdown to Christmas". November is way to soon.”
Jerome says: “I'm all in favor of Christmas and love the music, but think we need to slow down the mad rush. As far as I'm concerned, starting the day after Thanksgiving would be plenty of time.”
Debra says: “I love it - will listen daily, but not until the day after Thanksgiving!! One month is enough!”
Carol says: “I definitely do not want to hear Christmas music on the first of November. Why can’t we celebrate each holiday as it comes. We are still in Halloween Week. Let’s at least give me a chance to get into the fall mode before blasting me with Christmas jingles. Probably one of my main concerns is that there is a limited number of Christmas songs and by the time we actually get to Christmas I am ready to pull my hair out from having heard each one of them at least a thousand times. Let’s celebrate Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Okay?”
Laura says: “I think radio stations should start playing Christmas music on December 1st. Two months of Christmas music is too long! You don't want to be sick of Christmas, which is such a special time, by the time it actually arrives. I noticed the music playing on the radio today and was shocked at how early they are playing it full time!? I changed stations right away. I have too much going on yet before I am willing to focus on the holidays. Besides- what about Thanksgiving?! Thanksgiving is NOT Christmas! Again I think it should begin to play on December 1st. December is the month of Christmas.”
Alyce says: “AFTER Thanksgiving!”
Arthur says: “Thanksgiving Day”
Chad says: “I have not yet scraped the frost off of my windshield in the morning. Let Mother Nature dictate the beginning of the holiday season!”
Kim says: “It is way to early to be playing Christmas music. They should start after Thanksgiving.”
Lisa says: “The week of Thanksgiving it's okay for one or two here and there. After Thanksgiving I prefer a mix of Christmas and year-round favorites.”
Helen says: “I think Christmas Music should be started after Thanksgiving. Let the people enjoy each holiday in the order the holidays come. Time goes by fast enough. Why rush it?”
Ordell says: “Today, when I heard the first Christmas song, I turned the station before the first verse was complete. I refuse to listen to this station until a week before Christmas for that reason. Each year they seem to play Christmas songs earlier and earlier. Each year I turn that radio station off when they start the Christmas music. Whatever happened to Thanksgiving?”
Pam says: “Christmas music should not start playing anywhere until after we celebrate Thanksgiving. I think Christmas has become so commercialized that we forget why we celebrate Christmas.”
Jeff says: “November 1st is waaaaaaaay too early to start playing Christmas music. The day after Thanksgiving is when it should start.”
Dena says: “Shouldn't be played until AFTER Thanksgiving!!!!
Amanda says: “I believe that everyone should get back to starting the Christmas season when it actually starts: the day AFTER Thanksgiving. The only reason for this barrage of Christmas time is because of the notion that consumers are not spending as much. But by extending the holiday season everyone is so burnt out by the time December 25th actually arrives that it no longer has the same magical feeling. STOP the insanity and let Christmas get back to what it’s supposed to be: a time to be with family and friends and show them how much they mean to us. Consumers are still spending, stores are still making their money, and Santa Claus and his reindeer are still the most infamous characters in the world.”
Mary says: “After Thanksgiving.”
Susie says: “I think Thanksgiving is the appropriate time, but I’m okay with the weekend before Thanksgiving because that’s when some Christmas parades begin. The day after Halloween is ridiculous! We still have 60 degree days and no one is thinking about Christmas yet. I don’t plan on listening to these stations until I’m ready to hear the Christmas music!”
Cynthia says: “Christmas music is a very important part of my holiday celebration. I play it in my home and in my car. I love it! However, I do not believe it is appropriate to play Christmas music until the Christmas season. Officially, the season begins December 25 and ends January 8. In modern society, we often celebrate with additional parties a week or two prior to the holiday. Perhaps it would be best if the radio stations were to begin playing Christmas music on St. Nicholas Day, December 6. And, please, do not offend me or my non-Christian friends by playing ONLY Christmas music. About 25% is enjoyable until the holiday itself. 100% on December 24 and 25 would be lovely. Too much of a good thing is . . . too much.”
Dawn says: “After Thanksgiving.”
Chris and Geralyn say: ”Christmas music should start the day after Thanksgiving.”
Dorothy says: “It is crazy to start Christmas music this early in the year. They should wait until after Thanksgiving.”
Jennifer says: “Personally, I love Christmas--and I love Christmas carols! However, I do not feel that the day after Halloween should be the start of the Christmas season. America has started celebrating holidays far too early! I went to a Hallmark this summer, in July, and they already had Christmas ornaments out! We need to slow down and focus on holidays as they come. Along with slowing down, we need to take a moment and remember the reason for the season! I am all for Christmas carols...but I can only truly appreciate them when I hear them the day after Thanksgiving!”
Brett says: “Not until the day after Thanksgiving. It will put people in the right mood on one of the busiest Christmas shopping days of the year, but at least let me eat some turkey before you shove the Christmas ham in my face!”
Jennifer says: “I really think that November 1 is way too early, especially when it seems they just play the same songs over and over again – how many versions of Jingle Bell Rock are there? I think that if someone did a status report of their listener-ship during the long, two full months that they play the Christmas music, I bet it would show a substantial drop in numbers – who wants to listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving (its bad enough that the stores overstate the holidays so soon)? Not to mention those people in our area that don’t celebrate Christmas; and there’s a lot. What would be the harm in waiting until at least December 1 – or just setting aside a “time slot” for the Christmas music, just a couple of hours a day? I for one will no longer be listening to either station, and I’m a frequent listener of both – it’s sad really, I don’t even know that I’ll go back after the madness is over – they just don’t seem to listen to their listeners anymore.”
Brenda says: “Think an appropriate time would be after Thanksgiving!”
Andrea says: “Christmas Music shouldn’t be played until the week of Thanksgiving!”
Rashamona says: “Radio stations should wait until after Thanksgiving to start playing Christmas music.”
Jim says: “X-mas music should not be played on the radio any sooner than Dec.1. Listening to it now just saps the holiday spirit right out of me. I mean, it's not even Thanksgiving yet!”
Kara says: “The problem with playing Christmas music so early is you are sick of hearing it by Thanksgiving! I think it should start the day after Thanksgiving. It doesn’t feel like Xmas yet and I am still looking forward to Thanksgiving first! Halloween decorations aren’t even down yet! I probably will stop listening to those stations until after Thanksgiving.”
Alice says: Let's get through Thanksgiving first. The day after Thanksgiving is the perfect time to start.”
Amy says: “I love the Christmas season. However Nov 1st is way to early for music. Let the music start in December. Too much music too soon takes away from the spirit of Christmas.”
Becky says: “I think it is ridiculous to start playing Christmas music this early. By the time Christmas is here you are sick of it already. I noticed in early October the stores were already putting out Christmas stuff, they can't even wait for Halloween to be over. I think the Christmas music should hold off until at least the week of Thanksgiving or after.”
Matthew says: “Way too early! I wonder how many people are actually listening to these stations? At my job we changed to a new station first thing this morning.”
Colleen says: “I think it is ridiculous that they are playing Christmas music now already. What about Thanksgiving?? It's like we just jump from Halloween right into Christmas. I feel that Christmas music should not be played until at least December 1st.”
Katie says: “I noticed the Christmas music this morning. I think it is a bit to early for Christmas music. They should start the music after Thanksgiving. A whole two months of Christmas music gets a little old!”
Cynthia says: “THANKSGIVING DAY is early enough to start playing christmas music. Geesh, our children are forced to grow up so fast already, why push time ahead as well? Overburdening and extending the season only promotes more stress. “
Heide says: “Definitely should not play Christmas music before Thanksgiving. Dec 1st would be soon enough.”
Craig says: “Today as I drove into work I was shocked to hear Christmas music being played as I enjoyed my morning radio show. It distressed me greatly to know that the commercialism of Christmas has permeated our culture so much that it becomes priority to begin filling people's heads with Christmas anxiety, before we even get to the wonders of Thanksgiving. In regards to Christmas music, it strikes me as more sensible to play holiday tunes during the month of the actual holiday that the music is celebrating.
Not to mention the fact that after 55 straight days of Christmas melodies, it's very easy to believe that come December 25th, people are no longer in the 'Christmas spirit', simply because the exclusiveness of the music used to celebrate the holiday is stripped away by the repetition since they've been played for over a month by the time that Christmas has arrived.
Now, some will say that it's a matter of choice. If you don't want to hear it, simply change the station, listen to an MP3 player, or a CD, but don't complain about it. My point is, by playing Christmas music before people are ready to hear it, radio stations alienate their listeners and lower their numbers. Not to mention limiting the number of stations that one can listen to without being pelted by "Joy to the World" and "Santa Baby".
All that being said the point is that Christmas tunes should be limited to the month of December. To celebrate the exclusive holiday that they are for, and build those feelings of happiness, anticipation, and goodwill that those melodies are supposed to foster.”
Maureen says: “Not until Thanksgiving. 11/01 is much too early.”
Kathy says: “The day after Thanksgiving is a great day to start the Christmas music simply because it's the BIGGEST shopping day of the year!!!”
Cheryl says: “The day after Thanksgiving.”
Katie says: “I was not happy to hear Christmas tunes this morning. I don't think we should be playing Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. What is significant about the day after Halloween to start the Christmas music? There is a lack of variety when it comes to Christmas music that radio stations play and taking two months of the same songs on a daily basis ruins my Christmas spirit. By the time Christmas Eve arrives I have been so bombarded by 5 different versions of Silent Night, I don't want to hear it again. November 1st is way to early to start playing round the clock Christmas music on two main stations.”
Scott Lange says: “Christmas music should be played AFTER Thanksgiving.”
Tammy says: “Yes I think radio stations should start playing Christmas music on Nov. 1st. Many people are so busy right before the Holidays that they don't get to enjoy all the little pleasures like a simple Christmas song. Most people are busy running around shopping and forgetting to relax and enjoy. So before all the Holiday rushing around starts people can take the time to listen to the Christmas songs and enjoy.”
Maureen says: “When I was growing up, it was after Thanksgiving. Now it is after Halloween. What is up with that??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!! It hasn't even snowed yet!”
Carrie says: “Please….it is way too early to start playing Christmas Music. In the past years, this music is starting earlier, and earlier in the year and it kills the season. Stick with the tradition that this should start immediately FOLLOWING Thanksgiving.”
Sue says: “Christmas music should not be played until advent starts. Which is approx. 4 weeks before Christmas.”
Debbie says: “I think it's great, I like it that they start playing now.”
Cindy says: “I have now gone to another station until at least after Thanksgiving. I think it is too early to start on Nov 1st. After Thanksgiving would be more appropriate.”
Paula says: “There are only so many songs. I used to have my radio on my desk tuned to that station, as of today I had to pick a new station. November 1st is way too early for Christmas music.”
¬Bob says: “Lets get Thanksgiving under the belt and than worry about Xmas.”
Mindy says: “Ugh! It makes me sick to my stomach. They lost me as a listener until much, much closer to Christmas.”
Sandy says: “Should be heard the day after Thanksgiving - or at least wait until the week of Thanksgiving. If we start listening to it now, by Christmas, we are all sick of it.”
Denise says: “It is way to early to start playing xmas music, its bad enough the stores started putting xmas stuff out in September! I think the day after thanksgiving is more appropriate for the music.”
