Local NewsRaw Video: Boy Gets Trick or Treat Candy StolenBy Mick Trevey
MILWAUKEE – An 11-year-old is a robbery victim, and the boy suspected of robbing him is just 13.
Racine police arrested the teenager for stealing a child's trick or treat candy, and it's not the first time the suspect has been in trouble with the law.
Imagine a street corner last Sunday night at the end of trick-or-treating. Kids were headed home with bags full of sweet loot, but for two kids who were walking near a corner in Racine, the fun was ruined - when they were mugged for their candy.
Even though Tye Pearson got a bowl of candy to replace what was stolen, something very important was lost on Halloween night. His safe neighborhood doesn't feel that way anymore.
“Now, i'm thinking about never trick or treating again because of what happened, and it might happen again,” Tye Pearson said.

Tye and his friend say they felt like they were being followed, so they got off the sidewalk and went into a yard to get away, but they were followed.
“They came up to us and quick tried to grab our bags. One dude kicked me while I was holding my bag so I let go and he ran off with it,” Tye Pearson said.
A 13-year-old was arrested for the crime. Police are looking for his 12-year-old accomplice. Tye's mom is upset.
“You think that you can allow them a little bit of freedom and then something like this happens and it just makes you rethink,” Tye’s mom Ann Yust said.
For Racine’s district attorney, this crime is a big problem.
“This goes beyond that kind of bullying behavior that almost everyone has experienced. This is just a kind of thug mentality, and that's disheartening,” Racine District Attorney Mike Nieskes said.
Sadly, the 13-year-old who was arrested for the crime has a record. He used a toy gun and held it up to another kid's head in a different robbery earlier this year.
