Hostage Situation

At 3 p.m. MPD was called to a hostage situation at 2925 W. Burleigh Street. Police say Timothy Williams, one of Milwaukee ’s Most Wanted, had two women and two young children as hostages. Officers believe Williams was looking for his estranged wife and children. They say it appears that he was trying to get the people in the house to get his estranged wife over there.

As officers arrived, they heard gunshots and then saw a 42-year-old woman run out and collapse. She had been shot. She is in stable condition at a hospital.

Williams had another woman and 2 and 4 year old girls in the house. Police say it doesn’t appear that any of them are related to Williams.

The three hostages were able to run outside to safety. MPD tried negotiating with Williams and after several hours they deployed gas into the house and discovered Williams had shot himself in the head and had died.

Police say Williams was wanted in the murder of Tawana Lock from July 25th. Police say Williams, James Smith and Lornell Mitchell are charged with the crime.

They add that Williams shot Lock and a 29-year-old man during a drug deal that went bad. Lock died and the other victim survived.
