SHEBOYGAN - A 17-year-old teenager was stabbed after he was found sexually assaulting his 8-year-old cousin. The child’s mother now faces assault charges for the stabbing. A lot of parents live in the complex where these crimes occurred with their children. They all say they not only relate to what this mother did, they would probably do the same thing themselves. A Sheboygan mother came home early Thursday morning and found the unthinkable. Her 8-year-old daughter was being sexually assaulted by the girl's 17-year-old cousin. Investigators say that mother took things into her own hands. “If I saw someone molesting one of my daughters, I would beat him too, and whatever happens from there happens,” said Martin Becerra, a family friend of the victim. Police say she went too far. They say the 27-year-old woman stabbed her cousin in the arm and leg. The woman was taken to jail while her daughter rushed to the hospital. The 17-year-old suspect has not been arrested or charged yet. He's been at the hospital being treated for stab wombs. Police say he has a history of sexually assaulting minors. “Not a boy scout at all,” Sheboygan Police Officer Matthew Walsh said. “He is on probation for fourth degree sexual assault from a prior case last fall, and second degree sexual assault of a child as well.” The mother now faces assault charges for the stabbing. She will be in court Friday. Her neighbors say they will stand behind her. Police say when the suspect gets out of the hospital, they will take him off to jail and he will likely be charged with assaulting the little girl.
