Summerfest Questions on Kids, Free Days

  • Print
MILWAUKEE - Summerfest 2007 is here, but going into the Big Gig, people still have some questions about this year's event. "Can you recommend anything fun for people to do with kids?" Father Sam Rowen, asks, "Can you recommend anything fun for people to do with kids?" The music festival will be the first for his toddlers, Cooper and Leo Rowen. Of course, the twins' parents want to make sure they have a good time. Monday July 2 is a big day - it's Children's Fest. That includes a scavenger hunt with prizes and tons of free activities. At any time during Summerfest, children can visit the Discovery World tent and interact with sea creatures. And there's always the Children's Theater and PlayZone. "What are the free days?" The Big Gig is always a good time, but it's even better when you don't have to pay. Margaret Holloway wants to know, "What are the free days?" The answer? Almost every day of Summerfest, actually. On opening day, bring three non-perishable food items and you get to walk in the gate, between noon and 3 p.m., without paying. There are all kinds of promotions similar to that throughout the festival. So, what's new this year? It's the 40th anniversary. If you head to the Summerfest grounds on the final Sunday, July 8, you can share in the party. Show up between noon and 4 p.m. and you're in the door, no charge.
