Driver Charged in Fatal Crash: raw video
Nenad Paldrmic, 20, of Oak Creek, was driving an SUV on Highway 794 in Cudahy when he lost control and flipped the vehicle.
Sarah Stachula, 20, also of Oak Creek, was killed in that crash. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash happened at 2:30 a.m. on southbound Highway 794 at the Pennsylvania Ave. off ramp.
Paldrmic's black, 2000 Isuzu SUV left the road and flipped over, ejecting Stachula, who died at the scene.
Paldrmic and two other passengers were hurt in the accident; they were taken to Froedtert Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Paldrmic is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and homicide by use of a vehicle while operating with prohibited blood alcohol concentration. The sheriff's department said toxicology experts believe Paldrmic had a blood alcohol level between .08 and .11 at the time of the crash.
Southbound Hwy. 794 was closed at Layton Ave. for many hours while the accident was investigated, and the scene was cleared.
