Second Summerfest Headliner Announced
By Jenn Rourke
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. officials have announced the second Marcus Amphitheater performance slated for Summerfest 2007. Roger Waters will bring his solo performance to the Amphitheater stage on July 2 at 7:30 pm.
As co-founder of the groundbreaking rock group Pink Floyd, Waters served as the sole lyricist and contributing music writer on the band’s most successful albums. His on-going mission to bridge the worlds of rock and classical music resulted in such pioneering works as The Dark Side of the Moon in 1973 and The Wall in 1979, two of the most successful rock albums in history.
The second set of the July 2 performance will feature Waters and a full band performing The Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety. The first set will provide an overview of Waters’ music, including early Pink Floyd material from The Wall and Wish You Were Here.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 3 at 11 a.m. and will be available for $99.50, $80.00, $60.00 and $40.00 (price includes Summerfest admission).
