Plea Deal Possible 5/18/06

MANITOWOC - A plea agreement may be in the works for Brendan Dassey, the 16-year-old nephew of accused killer Steven Avery. Both Dassey and Avery are accused of raping and killing Teresa Halbach last October. Dassey's attorney now says there is talk of a deal, but he withheld details. Meanwhile, a special prosecutor has asked that the cash bail for Dassey be doubled from its current $250,000. Steven Avery will return to Manitowoc County court today for a plea hearing.
