Moms Visit Jails 3/6/06

CALUMET COUNTY - The mothers of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey are showing support for their sons. Both women visited the accused killers and rapists this weekend as they sat behind bars. This case has captured national attention. A documentary crew from New York followed Avery's mother to the Calumet County Jail. This is the first time she visited her son since her grandson, 16-year-old Brendan Dassey, was charged as an accomplice to the Halbach murder. Also this weekend, Brendan Dasssey's mother visited him in a juvenile detention facility. Even though he's charged as an adult, he's being held there. Investigators say Dassey confessed to the crime and gave details about Avery's involvement as well. He also led investigators to more physical evidence of the crime. If convicted, both Dassey and Avery could spend the rest of their lives behind bars.
