MILWAUKEE - There were a few tense moments at a Milwaukee church.
Church members say police chased a wanted man into their service at 27th and Vliet on Sunday night.
Worshippers said the congregation asked officers to arrest the man outside the church because they were in the middle of worship, and that's when a fight broke out.
Church members say police refused to take it outside, and chaos ensued.
The pastor, Richard Einchelberger said innocent people were hurt, and that he was even "kicked in the privates by one of Milwaukee's finest."
"The officer hit one of our deacons in the head with a billy club because he asked him for his name and badge number," said church member Edward Jackson.
Police defend their actions, saying the church members were obstructing officers. It's unclear if any of the church members were arrested, but police did arrest the man they were chasing.
Police said no one was hurt.
