MUKWONAGO - Police in Mukwonago are telling people not to be concerned about an alarming email.

The email from Mukwonago’s Chamber of Commerce set off alarm bells.

The email warned of a suspicious man in Mukwonago, driving around town, showing a woman's picture and saying he was looking for her.

Now, we know there isn't a threat. Still, people worried.

One of the places the man stopped was Dr. Phil Schoenborn's veterinary clinic. The man claimed to be looking for a woman who was a dog breeder. He wanted to know if any of the vets knew her.

Thursday, the clinic got a warning email from the Chamber of Commerce about the strange man. They decided to take a serious look at how they handle unknown visitors.

“We're going to establish some type of protocol so that if something like this would happen again, that our clients aren't going to be at risk,” Dr. Schoenborn said.

The man also went to the other vet's office in town, and he stopped at the Chamber of Commerce. That's why they got involved.

“He was kind of suspicious, asking some odd questions,” Officer Al Brook with the Mukwonago Police Department said.

Officer Brook worked the case. He followed the guy until he left the area. The man lives in Twin Lakes.

The police department says people can now relax. Despite the concerns, and the warning email from the Chamber of Commerce, police don't think the man meant any threat or was doing anything wrong.

“The email put people on alert more so than we deemed necessary,” Officer Brook said.

Some business owners said even if the email was a little alarmist, they would rather be over cautious.
