Here are some of your responses:
Brett Favre Fan says: “Yes I most certainly would watch and root for the best QB in the league: Brett Favre, and would no longer be a Green Bay Packer Fan. If this situation comes to be then it will go down in Packer history as the worst move ever by Packers management. Brett Favre’s legacy will always be in tact no matter where he plays. If he wants to be reinstated, so be it. He has given us the most wonderful years in Packer history. Such a competitive and fun player to watch. Good Luck Brett! Your true fans will follow you wherever you play. You will always be a Packer and will go into the Hall of Fame as one. Again good luck on your decision!”
Carl says: “Sure I will root for Favre and hope that he takes them all the way too a Super Bowl”
Jennifer says: “After all he has done lately I would NOT root for him even if he was back on the Packers!!! Why don't we watch him on his tractor wishing he was playing this season. He did RETIRE after all.”
Joe says: “I grew up in Wisconsin and have always loved the Packers. I moved to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi in 1992 and met the Farve family. I was invited to watch the Packer games at their house. I watched almost every game with the Favre family over the last 16 years and can not say enough about how well I was received and treated by everyone. What an incredible experience it has been to watch the team you love at the home of their QB. I have to say it would be weird to see Brett in a different uniform but if Green Bay doesn’t want him (and for the life of me I can’t understand why) I just wish the best for Brett and if he still wants to play I will cheer for him which ever team he's on. I'll always be a packer fan AND I will always be a Brett Favre fan. I don't know if I can ever be a Ted Thompson fan though. I believe Brett gives the Packers the best chance to reach the Super Bowl this year. I also believe Rodgers will be a very good QB in the NFL but the fact is by the time he's ready to lead a team not only to the playoffs but to the Super Bowl the window of opportunity may close on this talented team. Everyone knows that the idea is to win and to win now, and Brett gives the Packers the best chance to win NOW.”
Dennis says: “He'd be just great anywhere---as long as he's not a Packer. Had enough of his crap over the years. His own personal shower??? He really is a prima-donna that we do not need anymore. Get RID of him!! Ask Chewy about what a great friend Favre was during Chewy's lying-broad escapade.”
Fran says: “Hopefully the last comment from one of the fans. In however many years from now whose name will be remembered? Favre or Thompson?”
Mike says: “I think Brett would ruin his legacy with all of Green Bay if he were to play for another team. He has become the face of the organization over his 17 year career and to have that tarnished at this point would be astonishing. And NO, I WOULD NOT ROOT FOR HIM if he were to play for someone else.”
Steven says: “NO WAY!!!! This does NOT show any loyalty to a team of which he was a member for such a long time and was so warmly received by the fans and fellow players. If he does this, rest assured many of us will just wait for the major injury or mistake which would be the result of inability to make a decision and stick to it. Go Rogers Go!! A GB fan to the end, no matter what.”
Jim says: “Hate to see him play for someone else, but he has dangled a carrot in front of Packer fans for three years whether he was coming back. He made the call in March, no matter what his relationship to Thompson was. We reinstate him for our quarterback this year, Rodgers sits and we start this process all over at the end of the year. But this time, the Packers will be with no one but Favre, because Rodgers will most likely walk. What’s wrong with Thompson and Favre eating crow. Bring him in, chance to beat out Rodgers in camp for the “QB” job. Otherwise, Thompson can be in a no win situation.”
Linda says: “Favre should be able to come back and play, then ultimately retire from the Packers when he does retire for good. If he ends up being traded and playing for another team in our division, and the Packers chances are ruined because this team wins and pulls ahead of the Pack, Thompson should lose his job.”
Nick says: ”I would root for Brett but not for that team. But what I think the Packers are doing is just dumb, he is a great QB, one of the best all time and they don’t wanna play him? Does that make any sense at all? Even worse they wanna trade him, which means they will probably end up facing him and losing to him. This is just my opinion though.”
Anonymous says: “I think we should trade Aaron Rodgers and sign Brett for two more years. Rodgers has thrown one touchdown since he's been here. Tom Brady got to show his worth before he took over for Drew Bledsoe. Steve Young had his chance before took over for Joe Montana. Playing in half a game isn't enough. Plus, we can probably get more for Rodgers, and he won't have to deal with all the pressure he would have here.”
Cathy says: “Are the Packers nut???? Trade Brett they must be nuts. Stop fooling around. Sit down with Brett and find out how to heal this situation. Do not release him.”
Debra says: “I think they should let him finish out his contract. I can’t believe after all these years they are just going to walk away from him. Yes, he went back and forth, but quite a few others have done the same thing. At least he’s proven himself. I’m just heartbroken over all of this.”
Randy says: “Yes, trade him to Minnesota. If Ted Thompson is so sure of the team he has assembled, I would think he'd welcome the chance to kick Brett's butt!”
Rick says: “I refuse to root for multi-millionaires. Period.”
Sue says: ”If this plays out badly with the Vikings I will be very disappointed and rather mad.”
