Milwaukee #1 In Coupon Clipping

OAK CREEK - Turns out folks in Milwaukee are good coupon clippers! Who knew? Milwaukee was just ranked top in the nation when it comes to cities that clip the most coupons.

The art of saving money at the grocery store is really a science. Something the Shulz family does every week, on Sunday.

“I’m cutting coupons, he’s reading the news and we share back and forth," says Amy Schulz.

Her husband, JP, was an expert before he met his wife.

“As a kid growing up my mother would always clip coupons almost religiously. I thought we couldn’t get it if we didn’t have a coupon," JP Schulz said.

That's the motto the Schulz's try to follow. Every coupon ends up in a box, filed in the right category. It's rare one of their coupons is expired.

When they go grocery shopping, Amy and JP rarely deviate from "the list." An "art" of shopping that David and Sandy Bowman also follow.

"No coupon, no purchase. That's how it goes," says David.

Woodman's Market in Oak Creek collects thousands of coupons a day. Saving big bucks at the register, just from clipping a piece of paper, makes Amy happy.

“One time we saved like $80. It was awesome," Amy said.

A few more money saving tips, always have a list when you go grocery shopping. Mark the items you have coupons for. Be organized! Also, figure out the best days to shop. Pick 'n Save has double coupon days on Wednesdays.
