Raw Video: Daycare Leaves Toddler At Park

MILWAUKEE - A 2-year-old boy is left at a Milwaukee County Park by daycare workers. Now, the state is investigating Excellent Little Angels Daycare located at 83rd and Lisbon.

Other parents saw the boy wandering around Algonquin Park in Brown Deer Tuesday afternoon. Lauren Watson says he played with her toddler near the splash pad.

No one noticed he was all alone until the boy fell off a swing and hurt himself.

"Everyone initially thought I was his mom because I'd been playing with him for the last hour. But, then we realized he obviously doesn't have anyone here with him and that's when we called the police," Watson said.

The boy was one of ten children brought to Algonquin Park by the daycare. Daycare owner Cynthia Black says they counted the children before they left the park.

"It was a complete accident. When we got back to the center, we saw [the boy] was missing. We got right in the car and went and got him," she told Lauren Leamanczyk.

Black claims the boy was not seriously hurt and was back at her daycare on Wednesday.

The thought of a child being left behind makes Watson very uncomfortable.

"I thought it was absurd that the woman had left him here that long. What kind of daycare wouldn't realize a child was missing?" she wondered.

The Milwaukee County Sherriff's Department says daycare workers were uncooperative during questioning.

The daycare has only been in business for a few months at its current location and has a probationary license.
