Truck Drivers Trapped By Floods

MARINETTE COUNTY – In northeastern Wisconsin, there’s a small new community of sorts.

They call it “Stranded-Ville” and it was created by the spring flood of 2008.

“Some of us have been here 9-10 days,” one truck drivers said.

Eleven truck drivers are stuck in Marinette County. They’re supposed to deliver some giant wind turbines to a farm in Iowa, but that farm is flooded, so they are parked in Wisconsin.

“I read, we gossip, complain, and work on our trucks,” one truck driver said.

They have beds in their rigs and they’ve even managed to talk some locals into doing their laundry, but they say they’re going stir crazy and they want to get rolling again.
