MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A man who was released from prison this week is now accused of sexually assaulting a cognitively disabled woman on a Madison bus.

Police say a witness saw the 51-year-old suspect, Kennedy Harris, forcefully try to kiss the woman Thursday as she told him to stop. The witness moved closer and saw the man with his hand in her pants.

When the suspect stepped off the bus the witness contacted police. An officer boarded the bus and determined the woman was cognitively disabled. Police say she functions at the level of a 5- to 7-year-old child.

Officers arrested the suspect nearby. He told police he had done nothing wrong and had just "met a new friend."

The man has previous convictions for battery, armed robbery, theft and criminal damage to property.
