Wisconsin rides the killer Bs into NCAA tourney
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin Badgers are in the NCAA tournament for the 15th consecutive year and are preparing for a Friday game against Mississippi.
The Badgers are No. 5 seed and senior Jared Berggren says the team has found success sticking to its defensive principles.
The Badgers beat both Indiana and Michigan last week in the Big Ten tournament, relying on its stifling defense and timely scoring.
Wisconsin currently ranks fourth in scoring defense (55.9 points per game) among Division I teams, finished first last season (53.2 ppg) and has ranked among the top 10 in the category for seven straight seasons.
