Brewers COO: World Baseball Classic in Milwaukee 'not an impossible task'

Miami hosts the Dominican Republic, Italy, Puerto Rico and the United States in the tournament's second round.
Brewers Chief Operations Officer Rick Schlesinger says it may not be an impossible task to get the World Baseball Classic to Miller Park.
"With the retractable roof, we're able to have a nice, temperate game condition, and there's certainly a lot of baseball fans from the Midwest who would flock to Miller Park for the games," Schlesinger told Newsradio 620 WTMJ's John Mercure on Wisconsin's Afternoon News.
This year, the World Baseball Classic is conducting the semifinals in San Francisco and second round contests in Miami. First round games on U.S. soil happened in Phoenix.
"The one reason the games are usually on the coast is because it's close to spring training. You'd have players traveling further, but it's not by any means an impossibility."
Other sites for 2013 include Tokyo and Fukuoka, Japan, Taipei, Taiwan and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The main obstacle may not be the location or climate.
Instead, Schlesinger says getting the Miller Park grass ready for play in March might be the biggest problem.
"I think our groundskeeper might have a little bit of a heart attack if we started having games played in March on the field."
