Dane County deputies respond to home alone case
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Dane County deputies who responded to a recent domestic altercation say they arrived to find two small children home alone amid broken glass.
Authorities have arrested the 25-year-old mother of the kids, who are 4 years old and 18 months old.
Someone called 911 Thursday evening to report hearing yelling and items being broken inside the Village of Cambridge home. Deputies found the 18-month-old sleeping on a floor amid broken glass from a mirror and other items.
The children's father told deputies an argument between the couple had gotten out of control. He said the children's mother began to throw and break things so he left. The mother later left as well, leaving the kids alone and the door unlocked.
Deputies are recommending charges including child neglect and disorderly conduct.
