Report: Jennings would leave Bucks by 2014 without long-term deal
SAN FRANCISCO - As the Milwaukee Bucks prepare to face the Golden State Warriors Saturday night in San Francisco, the Bucks may have to prepare to pony up a lot of cash to Brandon Jennings - or prepare for his eventual departure.
Yahoo! Sports reports that Jennings is demanding a long-term deal with the Bucks this summer.
The site says that if the Bucks fail to do so and only sign him to a "qualifying offer" of about $4.5 million for 2013-14, that would be his last season with Milwaukee.
"If I take the qualifying offer and become an (unrestricted) free agent (after 2014) there is no way I am coming back," Jennings told Yahoo!
He will be a restricted free agent after 2013, meaning that the Bucks can match an offer which another team would make Jennings.
The report says that Jennings rejected a four-year, $40 million contract offer before the 2012-13 season began.
According to the report, Jennings demands a "lucrative offer" and personnel changes to give the Bucks a chance at their first NBA championship in 42 years.
