Three in custody after reports of shots fired near UW campus
MADISON - Three people have been placed into custody after a brief manhunt near the campus of the University of Wisconsin.
Police were called to the Eagle Heights area, which is university housing west of campus, at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
There were reports of shots which were fired.
No one was hurt.
Madison Police was expected to give more updates on the situation on Wednesday morning.
University officials sent out an emergency notification message via email, phones and texts to alert people about a possible armed suspect at the multi-building housing complex.
