October 21: Gunman Radcliffe Haughton shot and killed his wife, Zina, and two others at the Azana Spa in Brookfield.
BROOKFIELD - The final report from the Azana Spa shooting has been released.
The nearly 600-page report is expected to shed light on what happened that October day in Brookfield.
Radcliffe Haughton opened fire inside the Azana Spa, killing his estranged wife, Zina, as well as Maelyn Lind and Cary Robuck. Four other women were wounded.
Friday, police released 11 discs packed with new information, video, and chilling details surrounding the shooting, and the man behind the chaos.
Police were called just minutes after Radcliffe Haughton killed his wife, and two other women in cold blood. Terror filled the building as customers and workers heard gunshots. Zina Haughton's daughter is one of the many witnesses to call police.
"I was in Azana,” she said. “Radcliffe Haughton, my step-father, came in and he tried to take my mom. He told everyone to get on the ground. He shot maelyn. He shot her and I heard him shoot a lot of people."
Officers sped to the scene, tending to victims, and trying to find the gunman.
Eventually, police sent in a canine unit, who found Haughton dead upstairs, in an area where it appears he started a fire.
In Haughton's pocket was a copy of the restraining order his wife filed against him. He also had a handwritten note, which reads (in part):
"The law failed. Tammy knew but yet failed. The whole county should be sued for failure. If they had made us talk, this all could have been avoided."
Tammy is the Azana's Owner. Just a week before the shooting, Radcliffe Haughton had slashed his wife's tires. Police knew who they were after just minutes after the 911 calls started coming in.
Tonight, we're learning Haughton was vocal about his plans, and even hinted about killing his wife the day before the shooting.
