First Brewers start of 2013 preseason for Peralta
MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee Brewers' starting pitcher makes his first start of the preseason on Thursday, a month before a season where he may need to develop quickly for the Brewers to contend.
Wily Peralta will take the mound for the Brewers against the Chicago White Sox, according to Journal Sentinel Beat Writer and Brewers 360 contributor Tom Haudricourt.
With the departure of Zach Greinke and Shaun Marcum during and after the 2012 season, pitchers like Peralta, Mike Fiers and Mark Rogers will be asked to step up and deliver if the Brewers want to contend for their third playoff berth in six seasons.
Listen to the first Brewers spring training broadcast Friday with Bob Uecker and Joe Block on the call when Milwaukee faces the Colorado Rockies at 1:55 p.m. on Newsradio 620 WTMJ.
