Packers spend time talking to Manti Te'o Saturday
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - There's a chance that Green Bay, Wisconsin, could become home to one of the most well-known players to come out of college football this year.
Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o, who was the subject of an online hoax, told reporters Saturday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, that the Packers are one of two teams he had visited with so far.
The Packers have the 26th pick in the first round, and are said to have an interest in inside linebackers.
At the NFL scouting combine, teams get to spend 15 minutes with 30 players.
Te'o planned to meet with 18 teams and said if they asked about the fake-girlfriend incident that has put him and his family into hiding, he would be honest.
