Kenosha Police looking for suspect in multiple armed robberies
KENOSHA - For four months, Kenosha Police have investigated armed robberies in the city, and police believe one person is linked to the crimes.
The man has terrorized neighborhood stores at gunpoint. Investigators are worried the gunman will escalate his crime.
Store surveillance video from Quality Foods at 1824 50th Street showed a man who walked into the store on Oct. 24, 2012. In the video you can see the robber pointed the gun directly at man behind the counter, Nasar Yusuf.
"His picture is never going to leave my mind," explained Yusuf, the store owner.
Yusuf said he feared for his life that day when the gunman entered.
"I turned my back to the door and I said take what you need," he said.
The video showed the robber left with cash and thankfully he did not fire a shot.
"We just want to catch him before anybody gets hurt," explained Detective James Beller with Kenosha Police.
Beller determined the same man robbed three other businesses including Marathon gas station at 8101 22nd Ave. on Nov. 21, 2012, Citgo gas station at 4924 60th Street on Dec. 14, 2012 and the Mian gas station at 5006 60th Street on Jan. 4, 2013.
Police released the video because they believe someone will recognize the gunman.
"Based on the subject's actions it could turn quickly violent at anytime," said Beller.
Beller said based on the gunman's pattern he is due to strike again. If you have any information on this man's identity contact Kenosha Police at 262-605-5275.
