Medical examiner identifies body found in dumpster, family speaks
MILWAUKEE - The body found at 6039 North 63th Street on Sunday, Feb. 17, has been identified through fingerprints by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner.
According to Karen Domagalski with the ME's office, the body found was Dwight Killibrew, 53 of Milwaukee.
Dwight Killibrew has been missing since December. But there are still many questions about how he died.
Family members said Killibrew disappeared after he finished his shift at the Astor Hotel on the east side. He was last seen in the 4100 block of West Hampton Avenue.
Killibrew’s roommate reported Killibrew missing a week later when he failed to return phone calls and never came home.
Sunday, a woman found Killibrew’s body wrapped in a sheet and plastic bag in a dumpster behind her apartment.
“That's hard to accept that someone would do a person like that,” said Sharon Kerns, Killibrew’s niece. “We are relieved. But still, we need that closure. Why? What could have possibly gone wrong?”
