Two Union Grove fires spark questions
UNION GROVE - Investigators are looking for the cause of two fires Sunday morning in Union Grove.
Crews from several departments were called in to fight a fire on 12th Avenue. Reports of the first fire came in at 3:21 a.m. Six minutes later, a police officer spotted another family's garage in flames about 100 yards away.
Crystal Bennett said her family woke up after hearing someone knocking on their door telling them their garage was on fire.
"We opened up the door and smoke came in and all you could see was the flames," Bennett says.
Crews managed to put out both fires. There were no injuries.
Fire officials haven't said if they consider the fires suspicious, but Bennett says it's too much of a coincidence.
Both fires remain under investigation.
