Sheriff's captain's tip to drivers in snow: BARFF
ELKHORN - Drivers discovered lots of slick conditions Monday morning as they went on their commute to work.
One authority gave a good tip with an unusual acronym when describing the need to pay extra attention on ramps and bridges.
BARFF. (No, that's not a mis-spelling.)
"Bridges and ramps freeze first," Walworth County Sheriff's Captain Scott McClory explained to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Michelle Richards.
"We like to remind people of that. They don't realize that acronym can save their life."
"You don't forget it once you hear it. It makes you think twice when you go over an overpass or go on an on-ramp or off-ramp."
