MILWAUKEE - A robbery spree on Milwaukee’s south side came to an end after police arrested several suspects, including a 12-year-old boy.

There were four robberies within 20 minutes Monday night. Police swung into action and nabbed four suspects. The youngest one is only 12.

One man didn't want to be identified, because he says the roving group of teens robbed him and his mom at gunpoint.

“And they put the gun to my mom's face and told me and her to empty our pockets and told my mom if she didn't hurry up that he was gonna kill her,” the man said.

Officers Cory Harris and Jose Arzaga were in the area as part of the safe streets initiative. They raced to the scene.

“The suspect that was arrested was 13-years-old,” Officer Arzaga said.

The district’s anti-gang unit rounded up the other three suspects ranging in age from only 12 to 19.

“I have children of my own and when we do come into contact with these young individuals committing crimes it hurts,” Officer Harris said.

This is a violent group that beat up two men. The victims are grateful police got them so quickly. “I was really satisfied with the work they did last night,” one victim said.

Police are still looking for at least one more suspect. The district attorney will decide if the 12 and 13 year olds should be charged as adults or juveniles.
