Meijer pulls out of plans for Franklin store
FRANKLIN - An official with Meijer grocery stores told Franklin Mayor Tom Taylor Tuesday that the company no longer has any plans to build the 190,000 square-foot store they had planned in the town.
"[A Meijer official] noted that the decision centered on the company's difficulty in getting approval from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to build on or near the site's wetlands," said Rick Romano with FranklinNow.
