LAKE GENEVA - On a noisy street through Lake Geneva, there is a quiet, unkempt house. Letters are packed in the mailbox. Chairs are overturned on the porch. Hearts are painted on the windows. Police say two young men from Milwaukee used the vacant home to sexually assault two middle school girls multiple times.
Police say 17-year-old Daniel Tencle Frias and his 18-year-old cousin Oscar Mendoza Tencle found the 13-year-old girls on Facebook, then met those two children in Lake Geneva.
Neighbors like William Robers said they never noticed the secret get togethers. Police said the assaults date back to October.
"I'm shocked. I had no idea," Robers said. "I don't see any activity there."
The meetings ended when one girl told her parents. The family went to police.
Lieutenant Ed Gritzner said the crime should remind parents about the dangers teenagers face when they use social media.
"If the child has a phone, the parent needs to know the password to the phone and they need to monitor what's going on with any device they use," Gritzner told TODAY'S TMJ4 reporter Tom Murray.
Daniel Tencle Frias is in the Walworth County jail. Immigration authorities are holding Oscar Mendoza Tencle. They both list a home in the 1500 block of S. 6th Street on Milwaukee's South Side as their address. No one answered the door Monday afternoon.
Formal criminal charges are expected soon. Walworth County District Attorney Dan Necci declined comment.
