Hit-and-run involving school bus sends six students to hospital near Brown Deer
BROWN DEER - Tuesday morning, Jan. 22, just before 7:30 a.m., a Brown Deer police officer stopped to help a disabled school bus on West Bradley Road at North 60th Street.
"Upon speaking with the school bus driver, the officer discovered the school bus had been involved in a hit and run accident," according to the Brown Deer Police Department. "The striking vehicle was described as a red vehicle, possibly an older model Buick, which fled from the scene."
According to police, six students on the bus complained of injuries. They were treated on scene by the North Shore Fire Department and transported to area hospitals with what police call "minor injuries."
Brown Deer police said they now have a suspect vehicle in custody and are continuing to conduct follow up investigation, but they ask anyone with more information about the crash to call the Brown Deer Police Department at 414-371-2900.
