Fifteen Mukwonago Homes Flooded

Fifteen Mukwonago Homes Flooded

MUKWONAGO - Water is raging inside, and outside Richard Ziebell's house. His home is flooded, but he's not sure where the water is coming from.

And it's a lot of water.

"We're pumping about 388,000 gallons in a 24-hour period with five pumps running 24/7," Ziebell told TODAY'S TMJ4.

Fifteen homes in the Country Bliss subdivision in Mukwonago are flooded. Lawns are saturated, ditches are overflowing, and even their retaining pond has spilled its banks. The water started rushing in last spring.

Residents don't know what's behind the problem, but think it may be part of an engineering flub at a new subdivision. Local officials refuse to get involved. Ziebell has called the Town Hall, the DNR, and Waukesha County, but no one has offered any help.

Mukwonago Town Chairman Dave Dubey says his office won't get involved because the flooding only affects a few homes.

Ziebell and his neighbors are spending hundreds of dollars to keep their sump pumps running, as they hope someone will step up and help them out.
