RACINE - On a frigid Sunday, a select few say this is perfect weather.
Those few are the snow sculptors competing outdoors at the state competition in Monument Square appropriately named 'The Big Chill'.
Mild temperatures on Friday and Saturday made working with the snow difficult.
"Actually, it was only last night that the temperature fell down," sculptor Edwin Monfero says.
Bart Mayer crafted his piece called 'Hot Tube Time Machine' with bare hands. It's a T. Rex dinosaur sitting in a hot tub.
"Make a little sacrifice for the snow sculpture," Mayer told TODAY'S TMJ4's Tom Murray.
"Yesterday, everything was dripping wet. Today, it is cold."
Sunday's forecasted high in Racine was 12 degrees.
"Actually, it's perfect," said organizer and sculptor Jeff Shawhan. "Not so good for the spectators, but it's really good for us because the things we do stay where they stay and they don't move around when we cut them."
The winner of the competition takes home a $500 prize.
