WAUKESHA - The driver of a truck is arrested and accused of a terrifying road rage incident.

Eileen Bolongea says the driver of the truck chased her down and kept ramming her car. She feared for her life.

"I was scared for my life. I didn’t know, you know, what his intentions were and if he’d gotten me off the road, what he wanted to do," she said.

Eileen was on her way to work before dawn. Just blocks from her house, she noticed an SUV pulling up fast behind her. Eileen says she tried to slow down and let him pass. Instead, he slowed down next to her.

She got worried, so she backed up to get away. Then, the man started chasing her in reverse.

The pursuit continued and the man began ramming her car while they were driving.

“We were going 50 to 60 miles and hour down Sunset and every time he ran into me it just jolted me forward a bit,” Eileen said.

"She didn't know why. She had no clue. She hadn't done anything to provoke this individual, and she was just terrified as to why this guy was chasing her, following her, ramming her,” Waukesha Police Captain Mark Stigler said.

Eileen tried to get away, but the guy kept following. She called police, and when they arrived, the suspect, Leonard Litt, took off.

He left his vehicle behind.

He might have gotten away, if he didn't decide to come back for his truck.

"Some of the neighbors started reported around 7:00 this morning, there's a strange man running through their backyards with no shoes or socks on,” Captain Stigler said.

Litt was drunk and belligerent, according to police. He ran through a residential neighborhood and climbed up a tree to get away.

"Yes, he was trying very hard to get away from us, and he thought if we climbed up into a tree he'd be able to hide up there. Unfortunately for him, the canines can easily find people hiding in trees,” Captain Stigler said.

Bolongea and officers have no idea what got Litt so angry in the first place.

"We're not sure if he was having a bad night or what his problem is,” Captain Stigler said.

Litt is now in jail. He was arrested for a string of crimes, including operating while intoxicated and recklessly endangering safety.

Bolongea was pretty shaken up, but she wasn't hurt.
