Update: power restored in Shorewood area Saturday
SHOREWOOD, Wis. - A power outage briefly touched the Milwaukee area Saturday, nearly interrupting the Packers-Vikings Wildcard game for fans in the Shorewood area.
WE Energies reports that 18-hundred customers lost power, starting around 3:20pm, when a fault occurred in an underground cable.
WE Energies spokeswoman Cathy Schultz tells Newsradio 620 WTMJ crews were able to restore power within an hour to most, but 700 customers remained without power.
Those remaining outages were restored just before 5:00pm.
The affected area was bordered by Lake Drive, Kensington Boulevard, Morris Boulevard and Beverly Road.
