West Allis Police officers punched during scuffle
WEST ALLIS - Two police officers from West Allis were recovering Monday after being punched by a suspect.
"They'll all be sore tomorrow," said Acting Police Chief Charles Padget, who talked with Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jon Byman.
But Padget said the officers would be fine after they were punched during a struggle with a suspect early Monday near the corner of 105th and Rogers.
"One officer had stitches above his lip," said Padget. "Another officers was struck with an elbow in the mouth."
He says the suspect went to the hospital, and was still combative with authorities.
The suspect was set to go to the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex, but then to prison.
Officers took the suspect into custody after determining he was wanted by the department.
