Trial set for mother accused of abusing two-year-old for soiling himself
RACINE - A woman will head to trial for allegedly putting her two-year-old son's feet in boiling water for soiling himself while potty training.
Myrna Staten, 22, had a hearing on Wednesday at the Racine County Courthouse. She will face a judge on January 4th to begin the trial.
She quietly sat in the courtroom Wednesday.
The incident allegedly happened in Staten's apartment in Racine last week.
"She's not a bad mother at all," Myrna's sister Barbara told TODAY'S TMJ4's Keller Russell at that time.
"What they're charging her for is something she wouldn't do."
Court documents say the boys' feet were burned so badly, they blistered.
Staten remained behind bars after the Wednesday hearing.
Her three children were living in a foster home on Wednesday.
