MILWAUKEE - Powerball fever is gripping Wisconsin and the other 41 states that play as Wednesday's jackpot is a record $500 million.
According to Wisconsin Lottery Director Mike Edmonds, by the time the winning numbers are picked, the state will have sold $6 million worth of tickets in just a few days.
If no one wins the jackpot, Edmonds estimates that the prize for Saturday's drawing could swell to a billion dollars.
