Driver found after striking child in Rib Mountain
RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis. (AP) -- Marathon County authorities say a driver who allegedly fled after striking a child with his car in Rib Mountain has been found.
A sheriff's lieutenant tells WAOW-TV a 7-year-old girl was hit shortly after school at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday.
Earlier reports said multiple children were hit by the car, but the lieutenant said just one child was actually hit. A second child was there but was not hit by the car.
The lieutenant says the 16-year-old driver did not stop, but he was later found.
The girl was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but officers say she is going to be fine.
