Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival starts tonight
MILWAUKEE - "The holidays," that long stretch from Thanksgiving through Hanukkah and Christmas to New Years' Day, are a week away.
Few things get people in the spirit like lights and decorations.
The Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival kicks off Thursday night in downtown Milwaukee at Pere Marquette Park.
After using a chainsaw on "Live at Daybreak" to help slice a piece of ice artwork, Melissa McCrady got details on tonight's event.
"We're going to start with a free show...with Spider George and the Web. The rest of the evening is going to be jam-packed," explained Beth Weirick
She also described entertainment including:
- A choir from Holy Redemeer COGIC
- Studio B of the Milwaukee School of Ballet
Then, Santa Claus was set to flip the switch to turn on the lights - part of the tradition around the holidays in Milwaukee.
It starts at 5:45 p.m. Thursday.
