Rock stars join President Obama on the campaign trail
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin is in Milwaukee for President Barack Obama's rally with pop star Katy Perry.
Baldwin is locked in a tight contest for the state's open Senate seat with Republican former Gov. Tommy Thompson.
While thousands were attending Saturday's Obama rally, Thompson was about as far away from Milwaukee as he could be campaigning in Superior in far northwest Wisconsin and in Hudson in western Wisconsin.
Baldwin also plans to appear with Obama at his final Wisconsin rally on Monday in Madison. Rock star Bruce Springsteen is slated to be at that show.
A number of Republican surrogates for Mitt Romney were also campaigning around Wisconsin on Saturday, including Gov. Scott Walker and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
