MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Fire Department crews put out a fire on a freeway near downtown Friday.
The fire happened at about 7:20 a.m. on I-43 northbound near Brown Street.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
Two lanes of I-43 were blocked while crews took care of the scene.
There was no initial word on any injuries.
Drivers encountered backups through the Marquette Interchange.
